About the Material

The wood used is rubberwood.
Originally harvested for natural rubber production, these trees were discarded once they stopped producing sap.
Now, they are sustainably repurposed for furniture and construction.
With a gentle grain and smooth texture, this eco-friendly wood is kind to both people and the environment.

Little by little, children do it themselves

The wish to learn does not arrive overnight. It comes from days of drawing and playing at a desk, until sitting down at a desk becomes a habit.

How they sit, and how they tidy the desk: a child takes these on gradually, and Buono is there for each small step.

The desk, the chair, and the Buono3 Kids Book Wagon each change a little at a time, at your child's own pace.

FAQs

Norsta or Buono: which suits my child?

Both series start from the same idea. A child explores at their own pace and grows by making their own choices, a way of thinking that has much in common with Montessori education.

The two take different routes. Norsta builds independence through creativity and free play. Buono builds independence through an orderly space and focused learning.

[Norsta vs Buono: Which Kids Desk Set Fits Your Child?]

How is the Buono desk different from a study desk?

An ordinary study desk is built for children of primary-school age and up. Buono is designed to be used from around 1.5 years.

The biggest difference is the height adjustment. The tabletop and the chair seat each have three height settings, so your child keeps a good posture with the soles of their feet flat on the floor or on the footboard.

A desk of their own, sized to fit, makes it easier to settle into drawing or a picture book, and the habit of sitting down at a desk grows from there.

Can I assemble it on my own?

Yes. The build is simple: you tighten bolts with the Allen key supplied, and you don't need any special tools.

Allow about 30 minutes on your own, or about 20 minutes with two people. There's an assembly video to follow as you go.

How can I help my child concentrate?

Setting up the right conditions works better than asking a child to concentrate.

Posture comes first. When the feet dangle, the body is unsteady and concentration doesn't last. Adjust the desk and the chair so the soles of their feet rest flat on the floor or the footboard.

A desk of their own, in a corner of the living room, gives a child a place that feels secure, and the wish to try things tends to follow.
